Byrja is an inland village that lies on a river bank. The buildings are recessed higher than the water level to account for the spring thaw from the mountains. Most of the economy comes from fishing, crafting and occasional raiding. The village itself consists of about 200 people, mostly humans but a few dwarves live there too.
