"Bloody upstarts, every one of them. They see a few battles and think they're an army. Luc, send out the gutter runners. Have them crawl the streets and drag in another set of recruits. I don't care where they get them from, if they can't run fast enough, bring 'em in and give 'em a knife. If they resist, kill 'em. You know the drill. Once they're ready, we'll march in force. We'll show the lot of 'em who holds power in Kachamrith."

The Bloody Rats are a mercenary warband based in Ballarat, but we travel to Melbourne from time to time to either assist our allies or make some coin for ourselves. We will accept most people - our members are diverse and can fill a range of roles, from skirmish to shield walls to ranged support. In larger games (Melbourne), we tend to act as skirmishers and "motivational soldiers" - pushing forward, always. Of course, being the poorest of the poor, our aesthetic ideally resembles a mass of rags and rusted armour rather than a well-organised army. Maybe some shackles as well for the more rebellious (or newly recruited) members.

As far as roleplay, the Bloody Rats comprise of the ruthless and desperate. Most of us have joined either because we saw a route to power (through bribes, treachery and bullying, as well as the cheap mercenary work) or because we didn't have a choice (dragged off the streets and forced to fight). We are far from a 'good' warband, and definitely far from 'professional'. But if a rag-tag group of aggressive, bullyish and greedy mercenaries sounds good to you, speak to Luke Mitchell or Alex Clements-Tyler and we'll sort you out, one way or another.
